Cancellation policy

Organizer cancellation
  • In the event club leader(s) cancels a trip due to personal reasons, or not getting enough sign-ups for the event to go ahead, there's no cancellation fee. Full refund will be given.
  • In the event club leader(s) calls off a trip due to bad weather (where safety is a concern), natural calamity or disaster such as typhoons, hurricanes, strong earthquakes, civil unrest, etc., a 10% cancellation fee will apply, to cover the cost of event preparation and cancellation payments etc.

Client cancellation

Clients are free to cancel for whatever reason they want, but in that case cancellation fees apply.

Weekend trips (mainland):
  • 21 days before: 0%
  • 20 - 8 days before: 20%
  • 7-2 days before: 30%
  • 1 day before: 50%
  • On day itself: 100%

Island trips:
  • 21 days before: 0%
  • 20 - 8 days before: 20%
  • 7-2 days before: 30%
  • 1 day before: 50%
  • On day itself: 100%

General considerations:
  • In the event of cancellation on the part of the participant, the above cancellation charges will apply.
  • Cancellation fee will be computed based on the event's original cost.
  • The participant has to cover the bank transfer fee (between 108-432yen) if the participant want the money to be refunded by bank transfer rather than to be kept as a credit for future diving event.
  • Cancellation made after business hours (6pm) is already considered as the next day.
  • We will waive the cancellation fee if the participant (not us) finds a replacement.

Deposits and prepay requirements will be stated when an event/course is offered, and payment of this amount will be required before the trip reservation is confirmed.

"During" Event Cancellations
:
If a diver is present during a trip or course and has to suddenly leave, in that unfortunate event, the diver is responsible for 100% of the costs for the day or weekend trip.

Equipment cancellations: Equipment cancellation fees generally fit into the scenarios above, except in the case of day trips of shore diving. While cancelling shore diving in the last 24 hours does not incur dive fee cancellations, there will be rental gear cancellation fees for gear that was reserved and arranged:
  • Cancel on the day of a day trip shore dive (must pay 100% total gear rental fees)
  • Cancel 24 hours or less in advance of day trip shore dive (must pay 50% of gear rental fees)

Loss/Damage of Scuba Equipment
Losing or damaging dive equipment from a local dive center will result in a replacement fee. These fees are usually quite reasonable. If this any equipment from Divezone Tokyo, similar rules apply to replace the impacted equipment.

Risks
Outdoor sport and activities like scuba diving has inherent risks. The underwater environment is a beautiful place to explore but us humans can not breath underwater without scuba gear. Participants have to be certify they are aware of the risks involved and sign a disclaimer and state they are medically fit to participate in our activities.
